Technical Performance

The Hobbywing QUICRUN Fusion 8IGHT represents a significant engineering achievement in integrated RC power system design. The 2300kV brushless motor paired with the 80A continuous (240A peak) ESC creates a system perfectly calibrated for 1/8th scale crawler applications and compatible with lighter 1/7th scale climbers. The motor measures 42mm in diameter by 69mm in length, with a 5mm shaft diameter and 18.5mm exposed shaft length, ensuring compatibility with standard 1/8th crawler drivetrains whilst maintaining the compact dimensions critical for space-constrained chassis designs. The entire integrated system, including heavy-gauge power wires and XT60 connectors, weighs just 338 grams, providing excellent power-to-weight ratio that doesn't compromise your RC crawler's balance and handling characteristics.

The FOC (Field-Oriented Control) drive algorithm is the key to the Fusion 8IGHT's exceptional performance characteristics. By increasing efficiency by 8% and reducing power loss by 30% compared to standard sensored systems, the Fusion 8IGHT delivers noticeably stronger output and longer runtime from identical battery packs. The advanced algorithm enables smooth, linear throttle response at all speeds, particularly at the extremely low speeds essential for technical rock crawling where precision and control define success. Unlike conventional sensored systems that can feel jerky or unresponsive at low speeds, the Fusion 8IGHT provides torque delivery so smooth and predictable that pilots often report it feels more like a brushed system but with superior consistency and power. The sensored design also eliminates the need for manual throttle calibration during startup, making setup quicker and more reliable.

The integrated ESC supports 2-4S LiPo batteries (6-12 cell NiMH), with switching-mode BEC regulators delivering switchable 6V/7.4V/8.4V output at up to 13A continuous current. This allows powering multiple servos and accessories without auxiliary power supplies. The three selectable operating modes provide versatility: Normal Mode with drag brake effect for responsive braking, Normal Mode without constant speed for familiar brushless-style operation, and Constant Speed Mode for automatic speed stabilisation on variable terrain. The intelligent torque output system automatically adjusts power delivery based on terrain slope and resistance, making uphill climbs smoother whilst preventing downhill runaway.

With IP67 waterproof and dustproof protection, the Fusion 8IGHT handles all-weather RC crawler operations including muddy trails, sandy terrain, snow-covered obstacles, icy surfaces, and water crossings. The advanced electronic switch features waterproof and dustproof housing with shock-resistant construction, surviving the impacts and harsh treatment typical of serious RC bashing without switch failure. The system includes 13 fully adjustable parameters accessible via LED Program Box or LCD G2 Program Box programming, offering extensive customisation for different driving styles and terrain conditions.
