How does the lightweight design of the Castle P-CC11100 benefit .50–1.20 airframes?

The Castle P-CC11100 lightweight ESC for .50–1.20 airframes with telemetry and AUX wire is engineered for installations where every gram matters. Weighing just 91.5g with wires and measuring 66mm in length, this ESC integrates seamlessly into compact fuselage layouts and supports agile flight dynamics. The reduced weight contributes to improved thrust-to-weight ratios, faster response times, and more efficient power usage—especially critical in aerobatic or endurance-focused builds. By minimizing onboard mass without sacrificing electrical robustness, the Castle P-CC11100 enhances maneuverability and flight precision.

What voltage flexibility does the internal BEC provide?

The Castle ESC for 2S–8S LiPo setups with full telemetry compatibility and internal BEC includes a built-in BEC capable of delivering a user-selectable output between 5V and 8.4V. This range allows pilots to match voltage requirements for a wide variety of servos and receivers, from standard analog components to high-torque digital systems. With a peak output of 5 amps, the BEC ensures consistent power delivery even under demanding conditions. The internal integration of the BEC simplifies wiring and reduces the need for external regulators, streamlining the build process and enhancing reliability.

How does telemetry support improve flight safety and control?

Telemetry transforms the Phoenix Edge Lite 100 into a dynamic flight management tool. Compatible with Castle Telemetry Link modules for S.BUS2 and X-BUS systems, the ESC allows pilots to monitor critical parameters such as ESC temperature, input voltage, and receiver battery status during flight. Visual alerts via flashing LED patterns and audible tones notify users of system anomalies, including over-temperature and excessive load conditions. This real-time feedback empowers pilots to make informed decisions mid-flight, reducing the risk of unexpected failures and enhancing overall situational awareness.

What advanced functions does the AUX wire unlock?

The Phoenix Edge Lite 100 ESC with RPM output, governor gain input, and arming lockout key features a white AUX wire that expands the ESC’s control capabilities. This programmable line can be configured to adjust helicopter governor gain mid-flight, output RPM data to compatible gyros, or serve as an audible beacon after an unexpected landing. Additionally, the AUX wire supports ESC arming lockout, preventing motor activation until a designated receiver channel exceeds 50% signal. These functions add layers of control and safety, making the ESC highly adaptable to complex flight environments and pilot preferences.

How does data logging support performance optimization?

The Castle P-CC11100 programmable ESC with data logging, Castle Link USB access, and reduced weight includes onboard data logging that records key flight metrics such as RPM, voltage, and current draw. These logs can be reviewed using Castle Link software, allowing users to identify inefficiencies, diagnose faults, and refine throttle curves or governor settings. For competitive pilots and engineers, data logging turns every flight into a learning opportunity, enabling continuous improvement and precision tuning. The ability to store and analyze flight data adds a layer of intelligence to the ESC that goes beyond basic speed control.

What programming options are available for the Phoenix Edge Lite 100?

Configuration flexibility is a hallmark of the Phoenix Edge Lite 100. Users can program the ESC using the Castle Link USB adapter (included via coupon) and Castle Link Windows software, or access settings via the Castle Link iOS App and B-Link Bluetooth Adapter. These tools allow for detailed adjustments to throttle response, voltage cutoffs, and AUX wire behavior. Firmware updates are available at no charge, and users can save multiple setup profiles for different aircraft or flight conditions. Manual programming via transmitter stick is also supported for basic adjustments, ensuring accessibility even without a computer.

Is the Phoenix Edge Lite 100 suitable for lightweight helis and fixed-wing aircraft?

Absolutely. The Castle P-CC11100 with 33.6V max voltage, 91.5g weight with wires, and 66mm length is built to handle sustained output and rapid throttle transitions in lightweight platforms. Its compact form factor and reduced weight make it ideal for installations where space and mass are limited, while its 100A continuous rating ensures consistent power delivery during aerobatic maneuvers and extended climbs. Combined with telemetry, data logging, and programmable safety features, the Phoenix Edge Lite 100 offers the control and reliability needed for advanced flight operations.
