Overview

The ARRMA Aluminium Shock Body 11x54mm (2) Z-ARA330736 is an essential replacement and upgrade component for RC enthusiasts across the UK who demand precision engineering and reliability in their high-performance RC cars. Whether you're a seasoned competitor running your RC buggy at the track, a weekend basher enjoying off-road adventures, or simply maintaining your existing ARRMA RC model, these aluminium shock bodies deliver the durability and performance characteristics that professional-grade RC vehicles require. Manufactured by ARRMA, a recognised leader in brushless RC technology and performance components, this shock body pair represents genuine spare parts engineered to exacting standards.

Shock bodies are fundamental to your RC car's suspension system, directly influencing how your vehicle handles bumps, jumps and cornering dynamics. The 11x54mm dimensions denote the shock's internal bore diameter and overall length, making these components perfectly calibrated for specific ARRMA RC models. Upgrading to aluminium shock bodies from standard materials significantly improves durability, heat dissipation and consistency during extended driving sessions. If you're racing your RC truck or buggy competitively, maintaining premium shock components ensures your vehicle performs predictably lap after lap, which is critical for serious RC racing in the UK.

This two-pack provides you with a matched pair of shock bodies, allowing you to upgrade or replace both front or rear shocks simultaneously. For anyone invested in keeping their RC model in peak condition, having genuine ARRMA replacement parts on hand means you can quickly return to the track or trail without lengthy downtime. The aluminium construction offers superior strength compared to plastic alternatives, making these shocks the preferred choice for bashers and racers alike who refuse to compromise on suspension reliability.

Key Features

  • Aluminium Construction — The shock bodies are manufactured from aluminium alloy, which provides exceptional strength whilst remaining lightweight, ensuring your RC car maintains optimal weight distribution and handling characteristics during high-speed runs and technical manoeuvres.
  • Precision Engineering — ARRMA's manufacturing process delivers shock bodies that are perfectly calibrated to work seamlessly within your RC vehicle's suspension geometry, maintaining consistent performance whether you're driving on tarmac, grass or rocky terrain.
  • Two-Pack Configuration — This package includes two shock bodies, allowing you to upgrade an axle pair or replace damaged components with genuine ARRMA parts that match your vehicle's original specifications exactly.
  • 11x54mm Specification — The specific dimensions (11mm bore diameter and 54mm length) are engineered for precise fitment within compatible ARRMA RC models, ensuring proper shock travel and suspension responsiveness.
  • Enhanced Durability — Aluminium construction offers superior resistance to bending and deformation under the intense forces generated during aggressive driving, jumps and high-speed cornering, extending component lifespan significantly.
  • Improved Heat Dissipation — The thermally conductive properties of aluminium help dissipate heat generated by friction and suspension movement, maintaining consistent shock damping performance throughout extended driving sessions.
  • Genuine OEM Component — As an official ARRMA part, these shock bodies are manufactured to the same exacting standards as the original components, guaranteeing compatibility and reliability with your RC model.

Technical Performance

The ARRMA Aluminium Shock Body 11x54mm represents a significant upgrade over standard plastic shock bodies commonly found in entry-level RC cars. The 11mm bore diameter is precisely engineered to work with corresponding shock pistons and valving systems, whilst the 54mm length provides optimal shock travel for suspension articulation. Aluminium construction delivers measurably superior performance through several mechanisms: the material's inherent rigidity prevents flex and dimensional changes under load, which maintains consistent shock valving characteristics and damping behaviour throughout your driving session. This becomes particularly evident when racing your RC buggy or truck competitively, where suspension consistency directly translates to lap time predictability. The thermal properties of aluminium also play a crucial role in performance — as shock oil warms during extended use, aluminium's superior heat conductivity helps maintain more stable oil viscosity, preventing the damping characteristics from softening unexpectedly. For UK-based RC racing and bashing communities, these performance advantages have made aluminium shock components the industry standard across competitive platforms. The 11x54mm size sits at the heart of ARRMA's shock system engineering, and upgrading to these genuine aluminium bodies is one of the most cost-effective ways to elevate your RC vehicle's suspension performance without requiring complete drivetrain overhauls.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is a shock body and why do I need to replace it? — The shock body is the main cylindrical component that houses your shock's internal piston and damping oil. Over time, plastic shock bodies can wear, crack or deform under the forces generated by bumps and high-speed driving. Upgrading to aluminium shock bodies eliminates these degradation issues, providing more consistent suspension performance and extended component lifespan, particularly if you regularly race your RC car competitively or enjoy aggressive bashing.
  • Are these shock bodies compatible with all ARRMA RC models? — The 11x54mm specification is designed for specific ARRMA models within their range. You should verify that these dimensions match your particular vehicle by checking your RC car's suspension manual or contacting our expert team at RC Model Shop. Using the correct shock body size is critical for proper suspension geometry and performance.
  • What is the difference between aluminium and plastic shock bodies? — Aluminium shock bodies offer several distinct advantages over plastic alternatives: superior strength that resists bending and cracking, better heat dissipation that maintains consistent damping performance, improved rigidity that prevents dimensional changes under load, and extended component lifespan. Plastic shock bodies are lighter and more affordable, but they flex under stress and can degrade faster, making aluminium the preferred choice for serious racers and frequent bashers.
  • Can I upgrade just one shock or do I need to replace both? — Whilst you can technically upgrade one shock, suspension experts recommend replacing shocks in pairs (front or rear) to maintain balanced handling characteristics. Mixing old and new components can create inconsistent suspension behaviour that affects your RC car's cornering and stability. This two-pack makes it simple and cost-effective to upgrade an entire axle properly.
  • Do these shock bodies require any special maintenance? — Aluminium shock bodies require the same maintenance as standard components: periodic inspection for leaks, occasional cleaning to remove dirt and debris, and replacement of shock oil according to your vehicle's maintenance schedule or when damping performance deteriorates noticeably.
