Overview
Since 1964, Team Associated has proven itself to be the recognised leader in competition racing, and with its deep roots in on-road racing heritage, it makes perfect sense that the company's elite Area 51 engineering team would develop the ultimate RC drift car — the DC10. This is a purpose-built 1:10 RWD competition drift kit engineered specifically for precision balance and control, making it the choice for serious drifters who demand the very best. Whether you're an experienced RC car enthusiast looking to step up your drifting game, or a dedicated builder ready to invest time and skill into creating a competition-grade machine, the DC10 delivers the tools and tuning options that separate champions from casual drivers.
In RC drifting, vehicle balance is absolutely key to success. The DC10 has been designed with an astonishing number of suspension and chassis tuning options that allow drivers to set up their car with surgical precision. From camber and caster adjustment to kingpin inclination (KPI) control, plus motor and battery position flexibility, the Team Associated DC10 1:10 RWD Competition Drift Kit has truly got it all. This is not a ready-to-run RC car for beginners — this is a dedicated competition platform for those serious about building and tuning their own drift machine. With a 257mm wheelbase and comprehensive adjustability across every critical system, you'll have complete control over how your drift car performs on different surfaces and during different driving conditions.
Built with premium materials throughout, including a carbon-fibre chassis and hard-anodised aluminium hardware, the DC10 represents the pinnacle of drift car engineering. If you're searching for a high-end drift kit UK buyers trust, or you want to experience the satisfaction of building and competing with a truly professional-grade RC drift platform, the DC10 is your answer.

- Easy-to-Adjust Camber — Camber angle adjustments are straightforward, allowing you to optimise tyre contact patches for maximum grip during drifting.
- Adjustable Offset Wheel Hexes — Multiple hex options allow you to fine-tune track width and handling balance without needing different hubs.
- Adjustable Servo Mount Locations — Servo placement flexibility ensures you can optimise the steering system for your specific build configuration and radio system.
- Precision Rubber-Sealed Ball Bearings Throughout — Every rotating component uses quality sealed ball bearings, ensuring smooth operation and durability even under demanding competition use.
- Rear-Mounted ESC Plate — The electronic speed control mounting plate is positioned at the rear of the chassis, optimising weight distribution and protection of your electronic components.
- Adjustable Rear Anti-Squat and Toe-In — These critical suspension parameters are fully adjustable, allowing you to tune the rear end geometry for the specific characteristics you need.
Technical Performance
The Team Associated DC10 is engineered to compete at the highest levels of RC drifting. This 1:10 scale, 2WD platform features a 257mm wheelbase and incorporates a 2.6:1 internal gear ratio that delivers smooth, controllable power delivery ideal for sideways driving. The kit is designed to work with a 1:10 scale 540-size electric motor — typically the recommended Sonic 540-SP5 13.5T brushless motor — paired with a 7.4V to 7.6V 2S LiPo battery in shorty dimensions (standard or low-profile). The chassis utilises premium carbon-fibre construction throughout, with hard-anodised aluminium components providing exceptional durability whilst minimising weight. Every bearing is precision rubber-sealed, ensuring longevity even in demanding indoor drift arena conditions. The suspension system has been engineered with multiple adjustment points across camber, caster, KPI, motor position, and battery placement, giving competitive drivers the tools to optimise their setup for any surface or driving style. The 2WD rear-wheel-drive configuration is purpose-built for drift cars, and the design specifically facilitates the use of a drift steering gyro system for enhanced control during cornering. Materials science, engineering precision, and competition experience combine to create a platform that delivers consistent, predictable performance lap after lap.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Is the Team Associated DC10 suitable for beginners? — The DC10 is a competition-grade drift car kit designed for experienced builders and drivers, not beginners. Assembly requires full construction including soldering, and the extensive tuning options demand knowledge of suspension geometry, drift setups, and RC mechanics. If you're new to RC cars, we'd recommend starting with a ready-to-run model first.
- What battery does the Team Associated DC10 need? — The DC10 requires a 7.4V to 7.6V 2S LiPo battery with shorty dimensions, available in standard or low-profile height. The recommended specification is a 4000mAh 130C LiPo such as the Reedy Zappers SG5. Shorty batteries fit the compact battery box whilst maintaining weight distribution.
- What motor should I use with the DC10? — The kit is designed for 1:10 scale 540-size brushless electric motors. The recommended choice is the Team Associated Sonic 540-SP5 13.5T, which provides excellent power delivery and control for competitive drifting.
- What is the wheelbase of the DC10? — The Team Associated DC10 features a 257mm (10.12 inch) wheelbase, providing the optimal platform length for responsive drifting and cornering control.
- What is the gear ratio of the DC10? — The internal gear ratio is 2.6:1, designed to provide smooth, controllable power delivery ideal for drift car applications without excessive speed.
- Does the DC10 come with a body? — No, the kit includes only the chassis and mechanical components. You'll need to purchase a separate Lexan body and paint it yourself, or source a pre-painted body from your local RC shop.
- Can I use different motors or batteries? — Whilst the DC10 is optimised for 540-size brushless motors and 2S LiPo batteries, the modular design allows some experimentation. However, for best results and to maintain warranty coverage, we recommend using components within the specified parameters.
- What adjustments can I make on the DC10? — The DC10 features exceptional adjustability including camber, caster, kingpin inclination (KPI), motor position (high and low mounting), battery placement, Ackermann steering geometry, servo mount location, and rear anti-squat and toe-in. This gives competitive drivers precise tuning control.
- Is assembly difficult? — The DC10 is a full kit requiring complete assembly and will take considerable time and skill. You'll need tools including a soldering iron, calipers, hobby knife, and other precision instruments. The detailed instruction manual guides you through the process, but this is not a quick build.
- Does the kit include a radio system? — No, you'll need to source a 2-channel RC car surface transmitter and receiver separately. Popular options include Futaba, Spektrum, and eTronix systems available from RC Model Shop.
- What servo is recommended for the DC10? — Team Associated specifies the Reedy RS1606A Low-Profile Hi-Speed HV servo as the recommended choice, offering the right speed and control characteristics for competition drifting.
- Can I use the DC10 outdoors? — The DC10 is designed as an on-road drift car and performs best on smooth, prepared surfaces such as indoor drift arenas or specialised outdoor drift pads. It's not intended for rough terrain or off-road use.
