Whether you're building a custom brushless RC car from scratch or upgrading an existing setup, this 3650-size motor offers the perfect balance of torque and speed characteristics that serious RC hobbyists in the UK demand.
The 4000Kv rating means this motor is engineered to spin rapidly under load, making it ideal for applications requiring responsive acceleration and impressive top-end speed. With its sensorless design and robust 4-pole construction, the Firma 3650 delivers consistent performance across a wide range of driving conditions. This is a motor built for enthusiasts who understand that motor selection is critical to overall RC performance, and who want proven Spektrum quality backing their investment.
As part of Spektrum's recognised Firma brushless motor lineup, this unit combines years of racing heritage with modern manufacturing techniques. The 5mm motor shaft accommodates standard pinion gears, making integration into most popular RC platforms straightforward and compatible with existing setups. For RC modellers seeking a reliable, high-output brushless motor for their competitive or recreational projects, the Firma 3650 4000Kv represents an excellent choice from an authorised Spektrum dealer.
Key Features
- 4000Kv Rating — This specification defines how many revolutions per minute the motor will turn for every volt applied, meaning higher Kv ratings deliver greater RPM and speed when paired with appropriately sized batteries and electronic speed controllers, making this ideal for speed-focused applications.
- 4-Pole Motor Design — The 4-pole construction ensures efficient energy conversion and smooth power delivery, providing balanced performance between acceleration and top speed whilst maintaining reliability under sustained use typical of UK RC racing and bashing sessions.
- 3650 Motor Size — This popular motor diameter and length specification is widely compatible with 1/10 scale RC cars, trucks and buggies, making it a drop-in solution for many common RC platforms without requiring extensive modifications to motor mounts.
- 5mm Motor Shaft — The standard 5mm shaft diameter is industry-standard for 1/10 scale RC vehicles, allowing you to use commonly available pinion gears and ensuring straightforward installation with most ESC and drivetrain combinations.
- Sensorless Operation — This motor does not require Hall-effect sensors for commutation, simplifying installation and reducing complexity whilst still delivering responsive throttle control and consistent performance with compatible brushless ESCs.
- Brushless Technology — Brushless motors offer significantly longer lifespan than brushed alternatives, require minimal maintenance, run cooler under load, and deliver higher efficiency, meaning more of your battery's energy converts to actual wheel power rather than heat waste.
- Spektrum Quality — Built by Spektrum, a recognised leader in RC electronics and motors, this unit benefits from rigorous quality control and engineering standards that ensure reliable performance and durability through demanding RC applications.
Technical Performance
The SPM Firma 3650 4000Kv motor represents a carefully engineered solution for high-performance brushless RC vehicles requiring responsive acceleration and impressive speed capabilities. At 4000Kv, this motor delivers rapid spool-up and strong mid-range power when paired with 2S, 3S or 4S LiPo batteries, though final performance characteristics will depend on your selected ESC amperage rating, battery capacity and your vehicle's gearing setup. The 4-pole configuration provides an excellent compromise between efficiency and power density, ensuring smooth torque delivery without the vibration or cogging characteristics sometimes found in higher-pole-count designs. The sensorless brushless design eliminates the complexity of sensor wiring whilst maintaining compatibility with both basic and advanced brushless ESCs available in the UK RC market. The robust construction and proven Firma motor lineage ensure this motor will withstand the demands of regular racing, high-speed bashing, and competitive use. The 5mm shaft is precision-manufactured to tight tolerances, ensuring proper pinion gear engagement and long-term reliability. Whether you're powering a lightweight competition buggy or a heavier bashing truck, the Firma 3650 4000Kv delivers the performance and durability that serious RC modellers expect from Spektrum's brushless motor range.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What batteries are compatible with the Firma 3650 4000Kv motor? — This motor works with 2S, 3S and 4S LiPo batteries, with performance varying based on your chosen battery capacity and your ESC's voltage rating. Lower cell-count batteries (2S) will deliver lower top speeds but better torque characteristics, whilst higher cell-count batteries (3S or 4S) will provide greater speed with an appropriately sized ESC.
- What ESC should I use with this motor? — You'll need a brushless ESC rated for your battery voltage and current draw. Spektrum offers compatible Firma ESCs ranging from 25A to 160A depending on your motor load and vehicle weight, with popular options including the Firma 60A, 80A and 130A models.
- Is the Firma 3650 4000Kv suitable for beginners? — Whilst this is a quality component, it is a motor-only product requiring ESC, battery and RC vehicle platform knowledge to install correctly. Beginners may prefer a ready-to-run RC car or truck that includes all necessary components pre-assembled and tested.
- What size RC vehicle does this motor fit? — The 3650 motor size is standard for 1/10 scale RC vehicles including buggies, trucks, short-course trucks and on-road touring cars, making it one of the most versatile motor sizes in hobby-grade RC.
- How does 4000Kv compare to lower Kv ratings? — Higher Kv ratings like 4000Kv deliver greater RPM and top speed but may sacrifice low-end torque compared to lower Kv motors like 2000Kv or 3000Kv options, which is why motor choice depends on your specific application and driving style.
- Do I need sensors with this sensorless motor? — No, the sensorless design means Hall-effect sensors are not required, simplifying the installation process and reducing component count whilst maintaining full compatibility with any brushless ESC designed for sensorless operation.
- What is the difference between brushless and brushed motors? — Brushless motors like the Firma 3650 deliver superior efficiency, longer lifespan, cooler operation and virtually zero maintenance compared to brushed motors, making them the standard choice for modern RC vehicles where performance and reliability matter.
