Overview

The ARRMA BLX4074 4-Pole 6S Brushless Motor (2050Kv) is a professional-grade brushless motor designed to deliver exceptional speed and torque for high-performance RC vehicles. Whether you're looking for a brushless RC motor for competitive racing or weekend bashing, this motor represents a significant upgrade from brushed alternatives, offering smoother power delivery, improved efficiency, and superior reliability. The 2050Kv rating makes this motor perfectly balanced for use with the ARRMA BLX185 ESC unit, creating a potent power system that has been engineered to work seamlessly together. This motor is part of ARRMA's renowned BLX power system platform, which is trusted by RC enthusiasts across the UK and beyond.

If you own an ARRMA 1/7 or 1/8 scale RC vehicle such as the Infraction, Limitless, Mojave, Kraton, Notorious, Outcast, Talion, or Typhon, this motor is engineered as either a direct replacement or performance upgrade. The BLX4074 brings professional motorsport technology to the RC hobby, featuring brushless construction that eliminates carbon brush wear, reduces maintenance requirements, and extends service life compared to traditional brushed motors. This makes it an ideal choice for anyone serious about their RC car UK hobby who wants to experience the advantages of brushless technology without compromise.

Built with meticulous attention to detail, the BLX4074 combines premium materials with intelligent engineering to create a motor that performs reliably under the most demanding conditions. The beautifully etched black aluminium motor can isn't just visually striking—it's functional engineering that helps dissipate heat efficiently, keeping your motor running cooler during extended running sessions. For RC enthusiasts seeking a ready to run RC experience with aftermarket performance upgrades, this motor is the perfect starting point for building a competitive platform.

Key Features

  • 4-Pole Internal Configuration — The four-pole motor design ensures that power delivery remains smooth and consistent throughout the entire RPM range, eliminating the stepped power characteristics found in simpler motor designs. This results in more responsive handling, better acceleration control, and smoother top-end performance, giving you the precision control needed for competitive racing or technical bashing courses.
  • Premium Black Aluminium Motor Can — The beautifully etched black aluminium motor housing provides a distinctive, professional appearance whilst serving a critical functional purpose. The aluminium construction offers superior heat dissipation compared to plastic alternatives, with integral finned body sections that increase surface area for enhanced cooling, allowing your motor to maintain peak performance even during sustained high-power runs.
  • 3.5mm Gold Bullet Connectors — Heavy-duty gold bullet connectors ensure fast and easy wire removal when you need to clean down your vehicle after muddy sessions or maintenance work. Gold plating provides superior electrical conductivity compared to standard connectors, reducing resistance losses and ensuring maximum power transfer from your ESC to the motor windings.
  • Dual Motor Shaft Flat Section — The dual flat sections machined into the motor shaft provide a safe and secure pinion gear fitting without the need for additional grub screws or adhesives. This design prevents gear slippage under high-torque conditions whilst remaining simple to install and adjust, giving you reliable drivetrain engagement with minimal setup hassle.
  • Perfect BLX185 ESC Compatibility — This motor has been specifically engineered and tested to work seamlessly with ARRMA's BLX185 brushless ESC unit, creating a perfectly matched power system that maximises efficiency, thermal performance, and reliability. Using matched components ensures optimal performance tuning and eliminates compatibility issues.
  • Brushless Technology — Unlike brushed motors that rely on carbon brushes that wear down over time, brushless motors deliver longer service life, require minimal maintenance, produce less electrical noise, and generate more power from the same battery capacity. This technology is the industry standard for serious RC enthusiasts who demand performance and reliability.

Technical Performance

The ARRMA BLX4074 represents a significant advancement in brushless motor technology for RC vehicles. With a 2050Kv rating, this motor is engineered to deliver the optimal balance between speed and torque across the 3S to 6S LiPo battery range, though it is specifically optimised for 6S operation where it reaches its full performance potential. The motor's inrunner design, combined with its four-pole configuration, produces exceptionally smooth power delivery and minimises cogging effects that can compromise handling precision. The 5mm shaft diameter is a standard fitment across ARRMA's vehicle platform, ensuring compatibility with pinions and drivetrain components from across their product range. Built with high-quality copper windings and premium magnets, the motor delivers consistent RPM output under load whilst maintaining thermal stability. The black aluminium motor can isn't merely cosmetic—the finned exterior design dramatically increases surface area for passive heat dissipation, allowing extended running periods without thermal throttling. The motor can is precision-machined and beautifully etched, providing both functional engineering and visual appeal. When paired with the BLX185 ESC, the BLX4074 creates a power system capable of propelling 1/7 and 1/8 scale vehicles to thrilling speeds whilst maintaining excellent handling characteristics. The dual-flat motor shaft prevents gear slippage and ensures reliable power transmission, whilst the gold bullet connectors guarantee clean electrical connections that minimise voltage drop and maximise efficiency. This level of engineering quality is what sets ARRMA apart in the competitive world of ready to run RC vehicles.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is the ARRMA BLX4074 suitable for beginners in RC motorsport? — Whilst the BLX4074 is a high-performance brushless motor designed for vehicles rather than a complete ready to run kit, it is absolutely suitable for beginners who already own a compatible ARRMA chassis. Brushless motors are actually easier to maintain than brushed alternatives because they have no carbon brushes to wear out, making them beginner-friendly in the long run. However, you'll need to already have the ESC, battery, and vehicle platform to use this motor effectively.
  • What battery does the BLX4074 require? — The motor is compatible with 3S through 6S LiPo batteries, with 6S being the recommended specification for maximum performance. When paired with the ARRMA BLX185 ESC, a 6S LiPo battery will deliver the full potential of this 2050Kv motor, providing excellent speed and torque across all ARRMA 1/7 and 1/8 scale vehicles including the Infraction, Limitless, Mojave, Kraton, Notorious, Outcast, Talion, and Typhon models.
  • What is the difference between this motor and other ARRMA brushless options? — The BLX4074 with its 2050Kv rating is engineered specifically for balanced performance across ARRMA's mid-range vehicle platform. The Kv rating determines the motor's speed characteristics—lower Kv motors deliver more torque, whilst higher Kv motors prioritise speed. The 2050Kv rating of this motor makes it the sweet spot for street bashing, off-road racing, and general-purpose high-performance RC driving, offering excellent acceleration alongside strong top-end speed.
  • Can I use this motor in different ARRMA vehicles? — The BLX4074 is officially listed as compatible with multiple ARRMA models including the 1/7 Infraction, Limitless, and Mojave, as well as the 1/8 Kraton, Notorious, Outcast, Talion, and Typhon. It is available as both a standard part and optional upgrade across these platforms, giving you flexibility in building your ideal RC car UK setup.
  • What makes brushless motors better than brushed motors? — Brushless motors offer several advantages: they require no brush maintenance (brushes don't wear out), they run cooler and more efficiently, they deliver more power from the same battery, they're virtually silent, and they last significantly longer. For serious RC enthusiasts, brushless technology is the modern standard that delivers superior performance and reliability.
  • Does this motor come with a warranty? — ARRMA motors are covered by warranty as official ARRMA components. When you purchase from RC Model Shop, an authorised ARRMA retailer, you receive the manufacturer's standard warranty coverage, giving you complete peace of mind with your purchase.
